TTemper's take

Risking 12.3% on a single trade is dangerous, especially on a freshly reset account. A win like this can disguise the risk of oversized trades and inflate confidence dangerously. Regardless of the setup’s potential, ignoring size alerts jeopardizes long-term success. Keep risk at 5% per trade, no exceptions.

Why I took it. Back after a couple of days off, and back on the right side of the trend. The 1-hour was turning bearish and we had built a 15-minute range. Price swept the high of that range, then the 5-minute broke structure to the downside, so the 5-minute and the 1-hour were finally pointing the same way, and BTC looked like it was rolling over with it. I entered on the small retest of the break, stop above the swing at 69.336, targeting the 15-minute range point of control at 67.9 for about a 2R.

How it played out. It dug about 0.25R against me on the retest and then delivered. I banked two-thirds around the point of control and left a runner aimed at the swing lows, trailing my stop down behind it. We missed the swing lows by a fraction, the bounce took out my trail at 67.214, +3.5R on that final piece, and the whole position came out at +2.61R net, the best trade of the challenge so far, with about 4.2R at the extreme. The catch: I was sized at 12.3% of the freshly reset $500, Temper flagged it in the moment, and I dismissed the alert. Right side of the trend, right structure, wrong size again.

Temper in the momentcall-out · not heeded
Did I listen? No. Temper flagged the size the moment I was in, and I ignored it. $61 at risk on a $500 account is 12.3%, two and a half times my rule, on the very first trade after the reset. The trade paid, which makes it more dangerous, not less.

What keeps me honest

The tool that calls me out.

The strategy was never the hard part. Following it was. Temper is the app I'm building to call out the rule-break in the moment, before it costs me.
